Recently, a client proposed a challenge to us: could we, with only very minimal, cheap materials, construct a humane mousetrap that anyone could build? Naturally, MackerTech rose to the challenge. We agreed on a limited set on materials, which were as follow:
- Card Stock
- No more than 18" of tape
- No more than 8 of either paperclips or rubber bands
- Glue
- Card Stock
- No more than 18" of tape

Next, we bent another paperclip into a straight line, and folded a loop at each end. We also cut three more squares of card stock with 2 3/4" sides, and glued them all together, taping them at the corners, to create one very sturdy square. We taped the new paperclip to the bottom, and secured the loops along the rails, setting the extra-sturdy piece of card stock on the front of the cube to serve as the sliding front door. |
